The retrieval boat, as described in Starship Troopers, is the key vehicle when it comes to troop exfiltration. I did a quick design of this years ago, and am now revisiting and fine tuning the "A" model. My original idea was to combine the A-10 Warthog, the C-130 Herc and the US Space Shuttle.
